My kids have gone back to school finally! Due to construction at our district there start date was pushed back and back. I truly feel that I have acclomplished more int he past week that they have been back than I could have ever got done with them home in the past. Now that we are finally back into the swing of things I can start to take care of all the work things I have been putting off one of them is updating this page.

Not what I need right now
This week my family is in from out of town for a few days. We have been doing so much together, yesterday we took the hour drive up to Lake Erie to spend the day on the beach. As much fun as this sounds I once again was smiling thru the pain. My medium migraine was back and as much as I wanted to get out there and play in the waves with my nieces I was having a really hard time. My oldest niece noticed that I was not feeling well and she massaged my back for me this did help and then I was able to go and play a bit. By the time we got home and all cleaned up all I wanted to do was take my meds and go to bed.

if something goes up it must come down
This morning my son came to me with a bottle of that spray silly string. He wanted to do it in the house and of course I nixed that real quick. I did tho let him go outside and do it on the porch and play, with the understanding that if he was going to spray it there were some ground rules. 1. only on the porch 2. can't spray your sister 3. you have to clean up everything when you are done. The fun of the small bottle came and went and keeping it on the porch and not spraying his sister were followed to a T. Cleaning up tho was another story he cleaned up all the big pieces then there were thoes stragglers. My son then proceeded to try to rationalize/argue with me for the next thirty minn. Yep I am that push over mom that if he argues long enough I am probably going to give in cuz I am sick of arguing. I have noticed this pattern with my daughter lately and have really stuck to the time outs. My question this week is do you know what it takes for you to give in to your children? Better yet do your children know what works on you?

Time Out Tips
I have been frustrated this past week, it seems like every time I turn around I have to deal with something the kiddos have done. Either my 8 yr old is teasing my 2 yr old or my 2yr old has touched something else that she isn't aloud to have. I could use a Mommy Timeout! Since we are in the middle of renovating our home we do not have my fave time out Mommy's Tubby Time. I use to fill the tub, get some good trash mags, a glass of wine and escape. I haven't had that for a while now and it is starting to show. So I ask you this question..... What do you do when you need a MOMMY TIME OUT?
